1) Ibn Al-Bald program: Which aim to reinforce the principles of identity, belonging and participation. Programs and activities related to this program: 2) Al-Qafilah program: Which aims to reactivate youth in their communities. Programs and activities related to this program: "Ibn Al-Bald program" Young Achievement is a national youth initiative based on the positive practices of rights and duties related to citizenship, implemented in Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Jenin, Jericho, Salfeet, Tulkarem and Nablus. The projects is grounded on Ru'ya's faith in the role of youth as vital community resources , with the power to play a vital role in solving societal problems. Young Achievement provides young people with the opportunity to obtain practical experience designing and implementing their own projects to address important social issues, while challenging participants to learn about new perspectives and the often complex, difficult reality of social problem. This project aims to promote young people to be more effective contributors to the democratic lives of their communities, as well as to create reliable youth leaders who can take initiative and participate positively in communal decision making. The Young Achievement project is implemented through a network of young adult volunteers, generally university students, who are trained and supported by Palestinian Vision to lead and train teams of younger students, ages 14-17, in the areas of team building, communication skills, time management, and community engagement. At the end of the training, each group chooses a public issue that is particularly important to them. They design a project that addresses the issue and makes a meaningful contribution to their own lives, the overall quality of life in their community, and the wider world. More than 30 Young Achievement groups are currently active around the West Bank, with 300 adolescents and more than 45 university students participating. Young Achievement is generously funded by Norwegian Peoples' Aid, Quaker Palestine Youth Program (ASFC), and Naseej - Community Youth Development Initiative.
We aim through this project to educate the Palestinian youth on the ancient Palestinian cities in order to reinforce the concept of belonging for the society and place, and therefore, to be able to spread the spiritual, cultural and Arabic sense of the city and to be able to conduct programs and activities which will make a special relationship between the person and the place. The Palestinian youth will be able to reinforce the belonging to the city in its historical image to maintain it in his mind and heart. The youth will also know the city more by transforming the reality of the city culturally and historically through artistic and cultural performances. this project include many programs : Jerusalem Tour Guides In order to address lack of knowledge about Jerusalem and its history, Palestinian Vision has initiated the first tour guide training program for Jerusalemite youth ages 20 to 25. Participating youth will develop mastery of the history and geography of Jerusalem and learn to lead groups through Jerusalem in general, and the Old City in particular. The courses will be delivered by professional teachers and tour guides. As a result of this project, Palestinian Vision will have a cadre of qualified youth guides in Jerusalem. Over the coming year, guides will lead approximately 40 tours in the Old City for school students. project is generously funded by Swiss Interchurch Aid
Jawalit Al-Quds (Jerusalem Rangers) Belonging to a place, its history, and its people is a sentiment that everyone hopes to pass along to future generations. Through Palestinian Vision’s Jerusalem Rangers program, youth learn the histories of the places where they live, cultivate a sense of identity and belonging, and build leadership and life skills. Through community projects implemented by youth, the Jerusalem Rangers program also emphasizes the importance of volunteer work to successful community development. After the success of Jerusalem Rangers in 2005, Ru'ya expanded the project during 2006. More than 45 young people between the ages of 18 and 24 were trained in three arenas of civic education: life skills, drama for self expression, and touring of the Old City. After completing these three stages of the program, participants embarked on a Treasure Hunt throughout the Old City, designed to demonstrate participants' new respect and understanding of their cities. In addition, participants worked in teams to implement project expressing what they learned and sharing it with the public. Projects completed during 2006 include: · A calendar with pictures of Jerusalem, and
especially the Old City. This project is generously funded by Fredrich Nauman.
We aim by this project to improve the skills of talented youth of both sexes and give them the appropriate supervision from experts in the fields of writing, photography, hand work and technology creativity. This is achieved through searching for talents in the targeted Palestinian cities and districts by conducting different activities. For example, publicizing of creative competitions with the cooperation of universities and local organizations and inviting experts to go through outcomes and evaluate them, in order to conduct program aiming for developing skills. And this aims to publicize it locally and internationally through exhibitions and websites.
This project is one of the projects that is conducted by Ru'ya regularly and consists of all training programs conducted by Ru'ya serving its volunteers or other organizations in partner programs. Topics usually cover communication skills, group work, planning and evaluation. The organization always aims to improve the skills of its volunteers by conducting training sessions given by experts. This program also helps the organization to achieve self-financing.
This project is one of the projects that is conducted by Ru'ya regularly to reinforce the networking between Palestinian youth with other locally and internationally and identify more clearly with the Palestinian identity. This is achieved through various activities by the organization and with the cooperation of partner organizations. Aims and topics of these activities vary; it could be for exchanging skills or representing the Palestinian case and the effect of occupation on their daily life.
